Increase in VAT threshold limit in West Bengal for Paying VAT
Budget of West Bengal state presented on 27th February, 2015 by Dr. Amit Mitra Finance Minister In-Charge West Bengal. Threshold of annual turnover limit for paying VAT is Rs. 5 lakh at present . He proposed to increase the threshold from Rs. 5 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs. Due to this measure, more than 20,000 dealers who are at present required to pay VAT will now go out of the ambit of Value Added Tax.
Sir i am catering contractor in west bengal.my annual turn over is less than Rs.5lakhs .so plz tell me whether vat applicable or not.if applicable then whats percentage .if not applicable then tell me guidlines regarding this.
